Joe Schaffers was born in District Six in 1939, where he lived for 28 years.
In 1967 he moved to the Cape Flats, and lived in Hannover Park for 4 years, then to Fairways,
where he still lives today.
Joe joined the District Six museum n 1994 as volunteer. He became a full time educator
at the museum in 1998. Joe Schaffers, passionately involved in community work, is also
well known as a sportsman and musician.
He is lead singer in the popular Jazz Band Rendez Vous.

What nation are you referring to? The nation of South Africa was formed by white settlers. The original bantus and khoi san small in number and nomadic. They can harldly be called a nation.

And besides, almost every nation on earth was formed through some sort of war. Thats the way things were done hundreds of years ago. Its stupid to try and retroactively impose modern laws and morality of that time.
