0 - 177 Mph GSXR 1000 K8 Flat Out through tunnel HD

A 0- 177MPH run By my Mate on His Suzuki GSXR 1000 K8 during our recent holiday to france and italy!! Worth Noting that its still 4th gear at an indicated 177mph!!

@british980 All uk bikes are limited too 186mph/300kmh which it easily shows in 5th gear, though the bike continues to accelerate beyond showing 186mph, which I guess is due to the difference between the actual and indicated speed

A Gsxr 1000 will quite easily achieve 170+mph flat in 4th gear.

177 kmh is only 110mph.....2nd gear will EASILY see that off!

The hell's with all the people saying this is KPH?

While I have little experience upon the GSX-R1000 (only rode it two or three times), my R1 is making roughly the same power and weighs the same (ie. the power to weight ratio is the same, making the acceleration given the same engine type practically the same)...and I get to just over 100 in first...and will hit 160-170 in not too long after this guy did....and I can GUARANTEE that I'm fatter than the guy in the video (due to sheer chance).

@MrSlowestD16 I happen to owed R1 few years back, and now have GSXR1000 so actually can compare, both bikes are awesome and present the rider with enough power at any point, but I must say Gixer scares the living shit out of me...most of all dont go and slag other people's off work, get of your arse and do your own video so we can all see how glorious you are in you efforts - until then 'shut the **** up'

@robertmike219 You ever think your gps is wrong? ive hit 180 exactly with 3 different gps' and they all gave different answers. One 163, 174 and 172. Ive done dyno and it shows my k5 (the fastest 1k out) hits 190 in 5th.

How do you think the driver of one of those trucks would feel if he was passing the other truck and you camed flying out of the tunnel at 175 mph and smashed into the back of him?
