I think the comparisons are mainly due to the kind of similarity in the names and both being 2 person blues bands taking influence mainly from the old delta blues but also Hendrix. The White Stripes though seem to have a punk/grunge thing going on at the same time while the Black Keys seem more open to more modern influence.

I honestly hear no White Stripes influence in this. If this sounds like anything, its Junior Kimbrough. It's like saying that Pink Floyd ripped off of Sgt. Pepper just because they both are very experimental. The White Stripes and the Black Keys both play simple, impressive blues. Oh well.
