niamhmoriordan Its great to have the chance to hear Dr Gloor discuss his work. I'm basically looking at COINS in virtual worlds; I've only just come across Dr. Gloor's work and the term itself. I have questions about collective prediction: think lemmings. There may be a need to consider not just the most heeded voices of opinion leaders but also the (more accurate) opinions of experts (think Delphi). Also, some SNA research suggests information diffuses more effectively than opinions in groups.

Could you explain to why an organisation would use swarming techniques. Are COINs are a type of swarming technique? What other swarming techniques are used in business?
