What is The Atheist Experience?

The Atheist Experience is a weekly cable access television show in Austin, Texas geared at an atheist and non-atheist audience. The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin (ACA), a nonprofit educational corporation to develop and support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.

I know your Bible forbids all these pagan practices on pain of death, so I really appreciate that you take a day to ignore your God's commands in favor of some unholy good times. Christmas rules.

Unrelated post to the topic but would you mind telling me the song they USED to have (not this current one , I already know it). The ine they sometimes used to have as an intro with the lyrics (partial) "In the garden...

I was kinda missing that tune now that I been hearing Brian S.'s song on here all the time.

I read Jeremiah 10. It does mention the tree. But.. as much as I wanted to have this passage as ammo for Christians, it appears not. It is explained online that it actually discusses using the wood from the tree to make an idol.

So it did not have the gusto I had wanted.

The West's history is all about paganism and Christianity. Just because most westerners are now becoming atheists as we learn more about the natural world and realize that believing in gods is even less rational now that we understand evolution, doesn't mean we can't still celebrate pagan/Christian feasts like Christmas in an entirely secular manner.

And no, I don't want to even change the name away from "Christ-Mas"... I love the way it sounds. It's lovely.

Does anyone here believe Christmas is evil? Because I've read a thing in the newspaper about some muslim nutjobs who say it leads to things like abortions, rape, paedophilia, and the best one they deem also evil....Raves! Are raves evil? Because I've only heard the word "Rave" in a happy tone of voice. And how do you suffer abortion? Does someone break in your house while your wife/girlfriend is pregnant and proceed to dig out their wombs with a coat hanger?
