Oh, get over it. Two cups in Pittsburgh, and to this day, he's still my favorite player, even in a town that had Lemieux, and now Sid and Geno. Doesn't that account for anything? Dude read me a story in 4th grade because Barasso's daughter went to my school. No one else in my class cared, but I got my jersey signed and probably managed to creep him out.
My point is: He was great everywhere! Enjoy it!

You're right, they made numerous bad deals, and drafted a slew of duds as well. It was only from like '85 to '90 that they were making good moves. The Verbeek trade was probably their best deal. The Shanahan trade would've been good if that diva didn't pout his way out of town. But getting rid of Francis was franchise suicide....worst move by far.

The Whalers have made some notoriously bad trades...first Pronger for Shanahan then Francis to the Pens

As I watched this video I was hoping against hope that it wouldn't be ruined with a picture of Francis in a Pens uniform or worse, that shit team in the south. Thanks for not disappointing me.

The Whalers were doomed the minute they traded this guy...He should've been a Whaler his whole career (and I don't count his stint with the friggin Carolina Candycanes). How the Whalers dealt Francis for what amounted to a sack of pucks is still beyond comprehension.
