Train 240, Wellington - Auckland passing the Hawkestone Golf Course at Kakariki starting to climb the Greatford Bank with 51 wagons in tow. The two DXB's on the lead were making a bit of noise hauling this lot.

  • Nice...looks like a great little vantage point.

Hi, initially I thought so too, but the sun is in your face in the morning and casts some big shadows in the afternoon. Cloudy skies are best for filming here. Sunny shots are only possible during the peak of the summer season. There's also 100 km/hr traffic right behind me.

  • @ejvideos07 And here I thought you climbed up from track level to get there. :) Yeah, I can see where the traffic would put a damper on things. Turned out pretty good then, under the circumstances.

  • Nice, the mighty Dixie, always my favourite, looking great in the Kiwirail scheme.

  • Looks great with the 2 Kiwi Rail DX's pulling the train
