Gov. Brian Schweitzer, D-Montana, responds to Tribune reader Robert P. Ellenbecker's question about HB 388.
In his State of the State, our governor mentioned an oil and gas tax which would go towards teacher salaries. He wants to keep good teachers here in Montana, where many of them feel they are underpaid (myself not included). What effect would this tax have on oil and gas development? Do teachers really want more money from such a dirty source or is this an opportunity to make good from bad?
