If it's what some people want, what is the problem? I agree that people should be free to pursue whatever relationship types they wish, and that includes monogamy.

oh yeah, a bit on and off topic check the newest topic on extra credits on penny arcade tv, they usally handle only gaming but there was a flame war after two videos about religion in games and the made a good point on the topic around religion

Eh, a lot of legal systems give massive benefits to spouses, or deny them in absence thereof, so it's certainly a defensible statement that it's still a societal institution when it shouldn't be, because it's inferior to it's alternatives...

And the problem I actually have is something you yourself just mentioned... "couples". Humans are not naturally monoamorous, and to that end, (and since sex's benefits are mostly biological,) there's no sense in it (though mono-romantics do make some sense

well marriage isn´t that bad unless you think it is the only way for couples to be, but that is pretty rare nowadays, it is really up to the people to choose whether they marry
