@Weetjegeweten If you're open minded enough, you could also eat your own snot, most shit, insects, and insect shit. It's all full of B12 ;) If that is for some reason not for you, there's loads of vegan organic supplements on the market. Just make sure you don't get the cyanacobalamin (its toxic, cyanide), but get the hydroxy- or methylcobalamin instead. The B12 from bred bacterial colonies is also added to marmite and some nutritional yiests. Daily use of one of these products will do the trick
@MrJohni55 No problem :) as I said, I fell for it too. Nowadays I get my B12 from raw wholeweat, multiple grain breakfast cereals, and I drink the sourcewater that runs by my house. The ground is full of B12 and it is absorbed by the streams that run through it in the wild. Urban environment might be more difficult. There's a lot of B12 in all meat, especially in the liver.
Best info I found on youtube so far is a lecture by Dr Greger: 2003 - Optimum Vegetarian Nutrition - Omega 3 and B12
@Weetjegeweten in the last few days i have found info that supports what you say,
time to investigate more and then probably change what i eat as well as eating my words (again).
there is so much info and even more misinfo out there! not really sure what is true and what is just money making scams. thanks for letting me know :)
@MrJohni55 Actually, seaweed does not contain B12. it contains B12 analogs, which are similar to it, but actually they block your system for absorbing ACTUAL B12. This is why spiraling and chlorella are doing more harm then good! I'm a vegan, and I used to take chlorella and spirulina because I thought they'd supply my B12. Luckily I found out about this scam and threw em in the bin. Actual B12 Can only be created my micro-organisms that live in the soil, for instance.
