Beagle agility FAST and regular

My beagle, Rudy, doing AKC Open FAST and regular agility in Michigan, 2007.
In FAST, the dog must accumluate a minimum number of points in a set time and complete a "send" bonus, requiring the handler to stay outside of a line as the dog completes 2 -3 obstacles.

I have a beagle that is one and we loe agility! Please someone tell me, how do you keep them from getting distracted and focus on you!?

It's hard to get them focused when there are fun things to smell.

I teach mine attention games that I reward with food treats, AND I do most agility trials indoors where there are fewer distractions!

I started with "watch me" when he was a very young puppy... reward for glancing at me, then holding the look longer and longer, even with food waved in front of him eventually. Also, run away and have him chase me. These are two important ones to start with.

Your dog is kinda slow, but it was excellent directions, and did all the jumps and ramps perfectly! Great job!

i have a beagle puupy just turned 2 and she is an agility champion in training im showing her in rally on october then in a few more weeks we show far away in agility!!

aww.. so cute i have a beagle and he loves to jump but he can't go very high anymore because he got limes.
