@capone70 In some of the more extreme forms of Protestant Fundamentalism one can be sometimes even be denounced as a heretic for not providing taxpayer dollars to the state of Israel. It should seem obvious that Christ is much more concerned with individuals and their salvation than the border integrity of a political entity.

Yup. That`s largely how my views were initially formed.

Just over 30 years ago I was being influenced by a lot of evangelical protestants and reading materials about the 'end days'.

I thought its was obvious that Israel had to triumph and that the temple had to be rebuilt.

Now I still believe in the protection of the state of Israel -- because they are outnumbered and the Arab states haven't even protected their own.

VERY poignant and accurate. The elephant in the room is also that Protestants conveniently ignore and dismiss Christians (Palestinians) in the Holy Land and denounce ANY criticism of Israeli policy against Christians as "siding with terrorists". Protestants have also run a smear campaign against HH Michael Sabbah, saying he is really a PLO/Terrorist sympathiser. Fundie Protestantism and Zionism is a very unholy union.
