twist length check for june. didn't get much growth from the last twist length check in march, but i did cut 1/4 to 1/2 an inch of hair off in the last 3 months due to fairy knotting.
i plan to continue to use twists during the week for my protective style, wearing out styles on the weekend, but being sure not to make my hair TOO 'fro'ed as that causes a lot of tangled hairs when it's time to wash again.

  • You know I've notice that if my intake is good, as far as, vitamins, fruits and veggies are concerned, my growth seems more noticeable. Not only that, but I feel allot better to do my everyday task. Try some multi vitamins maybe that's the extra push you need. :-) but a half a inch a month is more than normal. Your doing just fine! Keep going girl!!! :-)

  • @tonisha111 Thanks hun!

  • I finally found someone with similar hair as me. You were doing a wonderful job with your length retention. I hope I'm as fortunate as you are! How long are you able to keep the twists in with your hair type? I tried doing twists before and they resembled dreadlocks by the end of the week :-(

  • @Bijoux921 Thanks! i normally keep my twists in for a week and wear a twist out for the weekend. I think the best way to keep the twists from semi-locking is to not make them TOO small or TOO large. medium size works best and to keep the moisturized by spritzing with a moisture mix every other day or so, and keeping them under a satin scarf at night. That has helped me maintain mine. Also, not keeping them in for more than a couple weeks may help.

  • It's so long and I'm so jealous. I guess I'll finally stop cutting my hair now. Very nice!

  • @miscellaneousable lol, don't be jealous. trust me when i say my hair grows SLOWER than the ave. rate of 1 inch per 2 months, so it's been a struggle to get to this length. yes, staying away from those scissors (unless necessary) is a must for us natural heads (IF we want to get some length)!
