Cat Evolution (HD)

I was curious about how the cat evolved so I spent about an hour reaserching it and this is the names of the species and what the evolutionary tree looks like. The whole family is called filadea. What I saw in the evolutionary tree was that a normal cat came up , that cat evolved into more juaguar/leopard like cat and that gave rise to 2 paths. One path went to all the types of saber tooth tiger, and a few individual species. The other path lead to 3 genus's. One genus called felis is small types of cat including the domestic cat. the other line called acinonyx led to types of cheetah . The other one called panthera lead to the cats that roar leopard,lion,jaguar and tiger.

Cats rule. My favorite type of animal by far. All of them: lions, tigers, panthers, housecats.  Filadea are awesome. :-)

Well egyptian cats are the earliest domesticated cats, the egyptians used them because they would get rid of vermin and snakes. But i'm not sure what you mean when you ask that, do you mean to ask if they evolved from reptiles and fish?
