With no doubts, the most stunning scene of the whole Godfather trilogy. The Godfather Part II is, in my opinion, the best movie of all time.

damn, Fredo was just very vulnerable, he didn't need to die, maybe sent off to Sicily, but not killed, especially not by his own brother while he was praying to catch a fish for his brother's son.

I found it disgusting what Michael did. Out of all the terrible things he did, killing his brother (and OKing it at his MOTHER'S FUNERAL whilst making it seem like all was forgiven) was as low as he got. Did he even think about what Vito would say? I mean, sure Fredo was a bit bumbling, but his intentions were pure.

I was almost happy about how much guilt Michael felt in part III.

If Vito was still alive, he would have been appalled at Michael for what he did. Had he been alive and stil in charge, he would have probably removed Fredo from the Family business for a while and later forgiven him. If Sonny was alive and Don, he would have lost his temper and roughed Fredo around, but he would have forgiven him too.

And Michael's guilt is a major reason as to why Coppola made Part III- he felt that Michael had not fully paid for his sins....

fredo traitor him, traitor thr family and the whole buss.and most of all, mike's kids almost die in the assasinations..and mike dont want ever that happen again..he found out fredo was a part of the plan..is difficult for mike to kill fredo but the most important is to stay the family's well and strong..yes its not good, but if u try to understand the story, its show the favor of love and impotance of a family esp the children wher mike love most.

yeah vito wouldnt agree on mike's decision..but the thing is, u need to protect the family..his kids almost die, at the end on part 3 karma came at mike, his daugther shot and died, and u saw how mike reacted in the scene, it was a darkest day of his life after of all nightmare of his life...its shows, killing has always have a price..
