@natmanprime Creating a world thats fair/ethical would actually be incredibly hard,mainly because most of the people attracted to power/government have been raised in authoritarian families with strict parenting-such children never learn emotional intelligence,empathy&so on-the very last people who should be running countries!Bush & Blair both egs of emotional neglect in childhood.Obama,Mandela,Desmon­d Tutu all good egs of Nurturant mothers (fathers not so great!)Perhaps we should run for office

And socialism can't be inter-societal or it wouldnt make sense etymologically, it would undermine the meaning of the word...?anyway, its different masks on the same 'good'.

@natmanprime I completely agree,socialism has to be about solidarity with our brothers and sisters across the globe-I was married to a print trade union official for 10yrs,so politics has been a big part of my life at times.(Am I right in thinking there's a link between Coca Cola and Nazi Germany? -sure that was in a Mark Thomas programme once - he's a star isn't he!) Will YT Alan Watts,thanx again for all these names to check out! Human beings need cuddles,especially at times of bleakness! : )

i think socialism is a good idea only if it is international, as in solidarity with coca cola workers (as out lined in Mark Thomas's outstanding book),etc...otherwise it becomes national socialism-->tribalism-->racism­-->nazism

A successful future leader of the left will be someone who is highly intelligent and insightful (in quite an understated way),someone who's ordinariness makes them deeply charismatic,someone who doesn't represent a traditional 'father/mother' figure and yet has immense personal/professional integrity.. someone very similar to Robert Newman in fact!
