This video was used as my exclusive for the latest SickDrummer Magazine. I'm uploading it on my channel so my usual viewers get a chance to check it out as well. Enjoy!

Ordinance has been busy the last few months writing new material for our follow-up to 'Internal Monologues'. We're still far off from officially releasing anything, but I thought you all might like to hear an Instrumental version of a new song.

I had two objectives for this session. First, we wanted to experiment with drum tones. We're planning to track our new record here in the future so I wanted to test out my kit in the room. Second, I wanted some footage of me tracking here to show the public. I am now offering session work and this studio is a top-notch facility located very close to my home. For more information on hiring me, please see the 'sessions' tab on my website (http://www.AlexRudinger.com/sessions). My rates are fair and I take great pride in my work!

I also tracked a variety of other songs to show some diversity. Several covers, a song for Chris Feener's Solo project, a couple collaborations, and some other Ordinance tunes. So if blast beats and double bass aren't your thing, there's still a lot that I have to offer. I'll be posting some of those songs in the weeks to come.

This tune seemed to be the most appropriate to use as the Sick Drummer Exclusive since it's very engaged.

This studio is located in Frederick Maryland and is owned by my friend Anup Sastry. Additional engineering is done by my good buddy and bandmate Greg Macklin, who also does the mixing for all of my videos. A dedicated website for the studio is still under construction, but more information can currently be found on my website.

I got a few new cymbals before this session. I moved my Soundcaster Fusion Ride to the left side and in it's place is a 22" MB20 Heavy Bell Ride. Also on the right is an 18" Soundcaster Custom Thin Crash, and two new splash cymbals in the center - a 10" Classics Custom and a 10" Byzance Dark.

The Classics Custom Splash really impressed me - very bright, clear, and cuts right through the mix. It's definitely going to be a permanent part of my setup for awhile. It's a relatively new line by Meinl so please make sure to check it out.

This song was written by guitarist Gunter Ostendorp.

Tempo is 115 BPM

Special thanks goes to Anup for letting me barrow his HD Camera. In total I was able to get five angles. The result is pretty cool, but in the future I think I will stick with just one or two. Editing together that many different angles is a time-consuming process, haha

You can pick up the debut Ordinance record 'Internal Monologues' on iTunes or via BigCartel. Some related links will be posted below.

And on a slightly unrelated note, Threat Signal just announced a full North America tour with Children Of Bodom, Revocation, and Eluveitie. Come out and lets hang!

I proudly endorse Meinl Cymbals. Thanks for watching!

  • Nossa! 3:40 é o momento mais show!!!

  • i'm going to email your sessions address. but little do you know, it's just gonna be us hanging out.

  • @marralis Alex is phenomenal but Orbin has 7 or 8 years more experience. We'll have to see later on. I'll say this though, I can usually follow what Alex plays, even if I can't perform it cleanly myself. Travis, however, does things that I just can't get my head around, let alone attempt.

  • I show all my metal head students your vids man . Your technique is fucking spot on!

  • @jhonyeryc Power at the Speed of Light.

  • These drums sound so amazing. Great playing.

  • Alex, what setting you use the Demon drive?

    speed, power or light?

  • SkillSwitch engaged!

  • @prestonskatefreak1 Just look up a rudiment called pataflafla.

  • @marralis No cause then it would be in triplets. Deffinately a pataflafla.
