Sisters Sydney and Sheridan, ages 13 and 9, have never known life without sickle cell anemia, a rare genetic disease affecting the shape of their red blood cells. Since birth, both sisters have been under the expert care of UNC pediatric hematologist, Dr. Rupa Redding-Lallinger, and are making great strides living with a life-long, sometimes very painful, condition. Meet Sydney and Sheridan, a dynamic duo.
