Brian Larsen, a musician, producer, and entertainer, discusses his addiction to cutting, something that he struggled with for more than a decade. In this candid and honest clip, Brian shares the reasons why he started cutting and why it was important for him to stop.
If you (or someone you know) is struggling with self-harm/cutting, please encourage them to get help.

Remember, you are worth more than cutting.
Its never nice hearing anyone go through any kind of pain so whatever it is that made you harm yourself, I just hope you never have to go through that again. Its good to see that you no longer do this anymore and that you threw away the razor! All the best :)

For something that someone else did. Don't take the blame. It's a choice. And, I'd just like to say I'll talk to u if u ever feel like cutting. Just send me a message. I'm here. Your friend, Jen. Just being a friend. peace

I had 2 main reasons I cut. 1) I felt powerfless after a VERY BAD crime happened to me. And I didn't ever see justice. 2) I had huge emotions that needed to b released..mainly ANGER. I had to A) find ways to feel powerful, and B) CHOOSE to let the rage out of my body. I had to go through hell. Punch my pillow, and scream, etc. But it was so worth it!! I am free now. I never even get tempted to cut myself. Because I realize that THEY WERE EVIL...not me!! I thnk ur blaming yourself for something

Hi Brian. :) Great job in throwing away the razor!! There are better ways to feel powerful. I am a recovered cutter. For me, it was kitchen knives and butcher's knives, though. And, I had to get over it because sharp objects will always b around. I want to encourage u. You are one of the most gorgeous men I've ever seen. Don't hurt that beautiful body!! For me, I thought I was ugly, and undesirable. I hope u don't think that about yourself. Because many women would want to b with u. (cont)

i still selfharm once in a great long while, and i really don't think it does me any disservice anymore. just like anything, it can be utilized in a healthy and productive way, and it can also be an addictive, dangerous thing. nothing's so black and white as good or bad, everyone and everything is much more complex than that. this is a great video and you should be proud for making it, i just figured my 2 cents could be used since i too have experience in this. love you, whoever's reading this.

I started to self harm at 12 as well. Your story touches me, and I can relate to it very much. Hopefully I can recover like you, and throw away the razors that i carry around with me. Thank you.
