  • I have a question, do i have to seal the cold patch compound after i put it in the whole and compact it.

  • No. Never seal fresh blacktop whether it's cold patch or hot-mix. Please go to my AsktheBuilder web site and read why. Read all my Asphalt Sealer columns.

  • so if i fix the bottom of my driveway and seal the rest i should only seal the top 3/4 were i didnt fix

  • So what did I tell you to do in my columns??????

  • i was also thinking about using old tires, shredding them, and mixing them in to make the ashfalt more rigid, and at the same time, more eco friendly and removing tires from our local dump...think its a good idea?

  • Yes. There are many white papers out there in the asphalt industry talking all about this. Hope you hit the lottery. You'll need all sorts of money to do all of this.

  • Tires=rubber which is a lot softer and more malleable than the rock in asphalt. Really good for letting water in to frost heave too. Noto to mention reducing the traction for rubber tired vehicles.

I hear it's good for running tracks though.

  • That's very civic minded of you. Hot mix is really the material you want. Perhaps you better discuss this with your town leaders at their next meeting. Get some other residents to back you. Have them sign petitions.

  • Hey there, interesting video! Im just wondering, the roads in my city are very bad, all kinds of pot holes everywhere, and i want to start a small business repairing these pot holes, because its literally out of control and people are always complaining about it..so can i get this ashfalt mix at a hardware store? is possible for 1 or 2 people to repair pot holes around my town, or do I need all kinds of machines? Id really like to make a difference and fix our roads....thanks!

  • Okay. I will go there. Thanks again.
