Thanks for sharing this video. There is not enough of Pete Cosey's music available. Really great groove. I'd love to know what strings and tuning are on that guitar. Love it!

How old is Pete? I want to study guitar under him. Agharta side A and B is the most mind-blowing stuff I've ever heard. Love the guitar work he did with Muddy too. Outstanding stuff!

arugato!

I love Pete's unique string groupings. In what is typically the high E position, Pete has a heavy gauge string tuned to a low note. It's fun to watch how he uses it. You get lots of good examples in the last third of this video.

@juicepopabitch: Never mind. I just clicked on the "Show more" button and I see that you're the percussionist.

@juicepopabitch: Which one are you, Juice?

@cordedpoodle I'm not Juice, but I think I can answer your question about the synth Pete Cosey used with Miles. EMS Synthi. Do some snooping about on the internest and you'll come up with some info.

@juicepopabitch I was wondering if you knew or could ask Pete what kind of synth he used on those Miles Davis albums. I was guessing a Buchla. My friend thinks it might be too so we are both curious. My friend is good enough to play with you guys too. You should see his torn apart and put back together customized DX7 monster. If you are ever in San Diego put me on your email list. I'm a snob but I'd get out to see you crazys. I love anyone who can play that wrong.
We had a lot of fun at this gig! A lot of improv. The players: Pete Cosey on Guitar and assorted percussion and vocals, Melvin Gibbs on Bass, JT Lewis on Drums, Johnny Juice on Conga and Turntables. There was also a special guest Sax Solo by Dave Liebman.
