Health Care Reform Policy: Diagnosing the Problems and Prescribing the Cure. Part 3 of 3 of a presentation given at the National Press Club in Washington D.C. on September 19,2009 by Arthur Astorino, Jr. MD during a public briefing on the "Joint Defense of Freedom in American Medicine" sponsored by Americans for Free Choice in Medicine.

The lecture focuses on a principled understanding of the history of health care finance. Wheter or no you agree with the interpretations and positions, without an understanding of this history it is impossible to have an educated opinion about this subject. Discussions that simply revolve around the number of uninsured, or the high cost of Medical care, or problems with insurance companies, are actually only focused on the symptoms of the problem, not the cause. A proper diagnosis of the problem must be made prior to developing a cure. This presentation provides an introduction on how to develop such an understanding. If you find this approach compelling, please do the following: send the link to your contacts; go to www.AFCM.org and sign up; view the entire briefing there; view more videos and written material there; become actively involved with the debate.

  • AWESOME speech Dr. Astorino! Very nicely organized and well put together!

I so agree. It is time to put the fire out and reform our corrupt health care system. Why shouldn't we be able to choose our policy coverage? just like we choose our vehicle policies or home owners policies!

  • Excellent speech.
