  • Couldn't the government subpoena the electric company to monitor your electrical usage every minute? They can tell when you are home and when you are away. Wasn't there a series of robberies 20 years ago in California by a telephone worker? That's before cell phones, but the guy knew his ex-girlfriend was away because she wasn't using her phone.

Now instead of monitoring your electrical usage month-by-month, with smart meters they know what you are doing minute by minute.

    This is better how?

  • So, people lose their jobs, electricity companies make more money, my electricity bill goes up and nothing changes the "total amount" of electricity they use. Smart Meters, Terrible Evil Idea should have been the title. How is this helping me the consumer? It's not, plain and simple. It ONLY helps the electric companies. They aren't needed, they aren't wanted, but we are being forced to have them nonetheless.

  • Good comments Mike!
