  • There are some upholstery fabrics that are perfectly suitable for Civil War ball gowns. Eventually you will want to stick with breathable cottons or silks.

  • I used upholstery fabric, I guess like marie antionette style to make my civil war ball gown in off white. Will I be laughed at if I wear it to the civil war reenactment? I didn't see any info online about fabrics to use until yours, by which time I'd already made my gown....I hate to not wear it after soo much time and money spent...
