I was in this concert, first row, 17 years-old. Phillips performance was not bad, this piece is extremely difficult out of studio.
-
the drums: bam bam bamm bam bam bamm bam bam bamm ......great!!!!
-
mike is very good

i taped this on my old VHS recorder in 1985, .. then was horrified to discoverI'd taped over my copy of Debbie does Dallas.
If only i'd removed the tab!!!

this song is balancing between polpular and traditional Oldfileld music on the album five miles out. I always wondered how many drummers can manage this difficult and amazing rhythm, I think at least two of them needed to give back the feeling of the studio version. anyway this performance is great.

This is absolutely amazing.....

it's a drummers piece. it's a pitty, the video doesn't show simon's work on the highhat. he's playing against all of them with it. palmer did a great job job in the studio, but phillips kicks ass in 1984 live. been there in dortmund; still upset after all those years.
teidi is a great peace of music.
get the whole viareggio-thingie and remember: it's the mid80's :)

Thanks, Mr. Oldfield for portraying El Teide in this song.
