Survey Nation goes to the streets of San Francisco during the April 9, 2008 disrupted Olympic Torch Relay to get the story you won't see on CNN, FOX, CBS, NBC, ABC, or any mainstream media. We talked directly to the people who were there about the important issues raised by the upcoming Summer Games in Beijing, shooting over two and a half hours of video.
In order to give you the best possible coverage, we will be presenting a series of shows from this event that focus on a variety of topics including the policies and practices of the Chinese government, human rights, the crises in Tibet and Darfur, a potential US boycott, the politicization of the Olympic games, and, most importantly, the American right to free speech. We will let the people speak for themselves on the important issues that matter most to them.
We understand that these issues are highly emotional and potentially divisive, but we encourage you to view each episode in the spirit of worldwide harmony, openness, and diversity that is at the heart of Olympic ideals.
In this episode, Survey Nation continues to mediate the ongoing dialogues between China supporters and supporters of the Free Tibet Movement.

How bias it is to say that CCP actively kills Tibetans in Tibet or simply got killed because of being a Tibetan. Those were rubbish comments.

Talks about being objective is also very sad. How can you be objective if you dont have all, never mind the correct informaiton in the first place. Yes there are human rights issues in other countries that why human rights and activists are working all over the world. At the moment China is part of that....young people challenge your government, more specifically the CCP. Or will that mean another Tianeman Square.i was in china, there were young people i spoke to who didnt even know about it

Its really sad when you watch young chinese people so naievely talk about their history when there books, tv and media is controlled and manipulated. Of course they should have a sense of pride. Its not their fault howwever, they just dont realise how much the CCP has control over what they learn. When i was in china i couldnt get any access to any of the stuff the government...sorry CCP were trying to hide.

I wonder how many people outside of China know about the thousand-year history between Tibet and China. I'm the author of 'My Splendid Concubine', about Sir Robert Hart. Under Mao, the 'Great Leap Forward' & the 'Cultural Revolution' thirty-seven million people lost their lives. That ended when Mao died. Granted, Tibetans have a right just like Americans did to fight to be a nation state. However, the Chinese government, like the British, has a right to hold onto what was part of China.

Mongols pretty much ruled over China as bandits, sucking out as much wealth as they could. But Kublai Khan slowly adopted Chinese political structures and political theories to built a strong central government in order to cement his authority as a foreign ruler over China.

During the Yuan dynasty, China—for the first time in its long history—was completely subjugated by foreign conquerors and became part of a larger political entity, the vast 'Mongol empire of Yuan'. Chinese faced policy of discrimination and etc etc. It was kinda like British India.
