Cab of the Virgin Trains Class 390 PENDOLINO EMU at Manchester Piccadilly with Horn.

Inside the cab of a Virgin Trains Class 390 Pendolino set.Footage shows shots from around the cab and also the pendolino leaving Manchester Piccadilly to London Euston.

The Pendolino set was 390042 'City of Bangor' on the 16th August 2010.

The video shows the speed dial which shows that the Pendolino can go up to, but not on the West Coast Main Line (WCML) Because of the signaling, But 140MPH Would really improve times again and would make going to London just like Blackpool - Manchester run, I wonder if they ever make it to the planned 140?

Cool. I'll be getting on a Pendolino almost Thursday from now on to get to Stockport so I can work, and I pass through Piccadilly most days of the week, gunna try my luck and see if I can get into a cab for a 390, or any other class.

@adster700 Yeahh its deffo worth asking. Some drivers are just dicks and some a really really kind a welcoming. Like this driver, allowed me in, spent some time explain stuff and gave me some drinks. Others don't like to do anything out of the job description.

Nice vid these cabs look very comfy the only thing ive cabbed is a 142 pacer lol does it count just standing right outside the door but being able to see everything and the driver start it up lol? Id love to cab one of these and although its strictly against the rules if hes a super nice driver he might let u have a lil go at driving it whilst at speed :)

@VirginTrain1 I just ask the driver and I was welcomed with open arms. Just ask the driver, it wasn't the first time I have asked, but just keep asking untill you find the ulimate driver like the one in this video. I can't thank him enough.

a terrorist gets into flight cockpit of a plane and flies into WTC, those drivers you say are ''dicks'' are probably just being cautious as you never know who you could be letting onto your train, just think of it from their point of view :-) (unless they are just a proper dick!!) lol

Oh I know about dickish drivers, the Metrolink gives me that idea a lot but I'm guessing train drivers are friendlier than tram drivers. He sounds like a great guy though, I have a few questions get ask a 390 driver so should be cool :3

I have to say that looks like a very nice peice of kit. I'm hoping to drive those one day. I shall have to see if I will be able to go inside the cab of a 390 :)
