This is a 6" Pearl E-Ink reader with IR touch and WIFI. It's available in three colors and sells for $149. It works with ePub and PDF books and documents, and it supports standard Adobe Adept DRM. It has an MP3 player, a web browser, and you can download books directly from the library and Google books.

Is it just me not understanding something or a user can't replace the battery in this model? I can't find any information on this topic and also can't find any batteries for it on eBay, Amazon etc. So am I right in assuming that once your battery goes to heaven, you have to buy a new reader?!?!

It has non user replaceable battery. So in a few years when the battery doesn't work anymore, you can either send it in to the manufacturer to get it replaced, or likely you will get a new reader. Given the price the readers have been trending, it'd probably make more sense to get a new one.

Thanks for your fast answer. Do you perhaps know how much does such a procedure cost? Since I can't find any info on battery replacement, I'm also unable to determine that. And in 99% sending something to get repaired/replaced by the vendor himself is much more expensive than doing it on your own (paying the service guy, shipping etc.).

We don't have that info. When a device is new, the manufacturers often don't know the price for these services that won't be need for a few years for a while. But doesn't hurt to give them a call if you want to get a Sony reader.
