I appeared on Current TV's show "The War Room" with fmr. Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm and Harvard's Michael Porter to discuss whether Americans can compete for jobs with low-wage labor in developing world countries like China.

Don't think wage differential issue will be a problem in China as their wages increase. But obviously it might be a problem in other low wage third world countries

People would rather listen to a qualified Harvard professor than a construction estimator. The Wage Differential issue might not be that much of a problem in other industries when companies can go offshore and exploit low-cost labor in third world countries. Obvious example is Apple using low cost labor in China through companies like Foxconn. People complain that their jobs are being outsourced overseas, fact is if companies don't outsource, product prices will increase

The Harvard professor "rejects" the idea that it's a wage differential issue!?!??!

I'm an estimator in construction. Over the years we are buying more and more products from China, Why? Their products cost less because of Wage Differential.

And this guy is teaching the next generation?

I could see David's incredulity at the end of the video, hilarious.

I watched Morning Joe this AM and just heard Prof. Michael Porter tell the world that American workers "are not now productive enough to justify wage differentials" - speaking of our $55 per hour wage for auto workers compared to $7 per hour in Mexico and $5 in China.

So someone finally says it "out-loud". This is what the GOP has been aiming at for years. They've bled us dry, we have no purchasing power, other countries have billions of consumers and it's our turn to be wage slaves.

    My God.

The guy is right. No lack of talent for jobs. Corporate propaganda tells us people arent available to work. Truth is companies want to grossly under pay people, slave drive them into working unconcionable amt of hours, with no benefits. Its all about greed. Its all about watching us loose to other countries. Its all about our death. Eliminate the corruption and save America.

People going to work in China. Im happy for them. Why not here? Because greedy corporations and Republican criminals supporting them have sold out America by outsourcing manufacturing and jobs in America. Dont criticize the Chinese. Pull the bastards out of office here in the Republican Party who are selling us out to the highest bidder.

Great learning piece - the reporter in China is very good, would like to see more of him. If Republicans controlling the House of Reps had even the slightest iota of actually doing their public servant job, "we" would be pumping dollars in to proper infra-structure to move America in to the 20th Century. Their inaction "Party of No" mentality is treason in my eye. At some point one takes the PreAmble to the US Constitution called Declaration of Independence to heart.
