View stereo image on a oscilloscope.
The image is created by the difference in the left and right signal.

Stereo imaging is a technique that is commonly used to give instruments or hook-vocals more punch so they stand out more of the mix.

Professional mixing consoles also have the option to display this image.
Technicians can not only hear if some things not right, but also see it on the display. This way it's easer to track down badly mixed parts of a song.

Use headphones for the best experience.
Try to find out what you see. (I always view the left down section of the screen)

I will explain stereo imaging in full dept in another video.

Thank you for watching.

  • can you do that on any oscilloscope

  • @beartraxent Not every scope supports this feature. But this is kind of an old analog scope so it's not that special. If you are looking for a scope that support this feature, it needs to have at least 2 imputs (L & R sound-channel) and it needs the XY feature to look at the stereo image.
