Halo 1 Easter Egg: The 'Megg'

The Directions:

Start Halo on Legendary, single player.
(unknown if it works on co-op)
Skip the cutscene, turn around, and jump on Master Chief's cryo tube after it closes.
Jump on top of the shield regenerator.
Jump on top of the walkway.
Walk to the back.
Jump on top of the yellow barrel.
Wait on it for about 10 seconds.
Jump back on top of the walkway.
Walk towards the door, jump off walkway and head for the bridge.
Run past the Australian Marine.
Once at the bridge, walk PAST Keyes WITHOUT triggering the cutscene and jump down to the ladder.
Climb up and talk to Keyes.
Head for the exit. Kill all three grunts.
(The order doesn't appear to matter)
Get the Assault Rifle by the door. Reload it for a full clip.
Get back to the brige and kill a standing crewman with a headshot or bash him. (With which weapon doesn't appear to matter)
Once the invincible marines come for you, shoot at them with the Assautl Rifle until your clip is empty. (the door will open exactly when Cortana says "rampant").
Go down the hall. Look up. There it is.
Now you're screwed - you can stay in the Megg room, but if you leave, the invincible marines will kill you. Even if you run past them, the door to the rest of the Autumn is locked.

Originally the easteregg was added to the game as a personal gift from Jaime Griesemer (designer on the Halo team) to his girlfriend Meg. But it became the object of furious searching by hundreds of Halo fans in March and April of 2003 after Jaime had released some information. Many were disappointed with the results, but what was forgotten in the mad rush was that this was never MEANT to be public; it was a private gift from a man to his woman!
