It would have been impossible to successfully extricate it, so I worked with it rather than try to work against it.
"Indy's Theme" is surely a great piece of music - but it belongs to the character for whom it was written. To apply it here would be to beg a cinematic comparison that is unfair.

As you can see (in the "After" section of this clip), there is no music at all in this sequence of the completed fanedit. It was relatively easy to "foley" this sequence, because it contained no dialogue. The vocal version of the "Doc Savage March" was replaced in the "Journey to Quetzamal" and "End Titles" sequences with a non-vocal version - but still the same piece of music. Sousa's "Thunderer March" is used throughout the film - in different feels and tempos - as Doc's theme.
-
If you could take out the Sousa music, that changes the tone of the movie. I've found that listening to RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK tracks by John Williams is more palatable.
Original is better. The cheesy stuff you've gotten rid of is what made it a cool and quirky, great movie in the first place. Your edits just make it bland.

It takes all kinds to make the world go 'round. And you, my friend, belong to a very exclusive club: someone who not only SAW the original film, but explicitly calls it "great". One-in-MORE-THAN-a-million, I'd say...
As Don Jose would say, "Vaya con Dios!"

@FEslark Well its like the original Batman tv series with Adam West. Yes, its campy, but that's sort of the whole point in why they made it that way. It was never meant to be taken too serious. Its just a fun niche goofball flick.

Fans of Kenneth Robeson's 181 original Doc Savage pulp novels would disagree with you regarding whether or not this character deserved to be taken seriously. In fact, this film is *almost* universally despised for that very reason: Doc fans felt that his first - and to date, only - film outing should have had the feel of what Spielberg and Lucas did with "Raiders of the Lost Ark" some six years later.
Bue hey - the original is still out there. Enjoy it!

Great clip Slark! Some of the changes are so subtle that one may not even notice them. Even though I didn't see your edit I still voted for you and was rooting for you on the sidelines.
