Acker Bilk and His Paramount Jazz Band another fabulous Acker Bilk composition and equally fabulous Acker Bilk clarinet solo with the rhythmn section 1959 issued under "Starportrait (1959-1969)." This was the forerunner for Acker Bilk's famous Stranger on the Shore which carried him to Stardom and probably kept him in a bed of roses for the rest of his life (he said it was his pension). The Band featured here: Acker Bilk (cl); Dave Collett (Pn) Roy James (Ba); Ernie Price (bs); Ron Mackay (dr) (Thanks to "pat4170" for reminding me that Ernie Price was the Bass player). (Track 10 of 24) Submitted: ULAJAZZ
Acker`s clarinet sounds similar to the clarinetplayer of my favorite group OK-DREAMBAND. Cd "Clarinet-Dreams" is available for downloading (iTunes and more). My favorite track is"Your Eyes Are So Blue".

Thank you, maestro Acker Bilk!
