This is my shortened quick rendition of The Gentle Waltz. This is basically the first section of the piece repeated twice where I took A LOT of freedom to do whatever I so pleased. The original was performed and written by Oscar Peterson.

  • this interpretation is very nice. People, we are forgetting the purpost of jazz and it is simply to express yourself without abiding by the rules or restrictions of anything. anything can be yours and this song is a great way for this pianist to express through music. nice job

  • I like your version but I think you made it a lot more melancholy than it's intended to be and a bit darker.

  • At first I definitely loved your rendition, however I have to agree that by the end of it, it was starting to lose its groove. Regardless, it was a pleasure to listen to, this is one of my favourite pieces of all time and I'd say you did it a fair amount of justice.

  • i realize this is your interpretation but you're playing it wrong.

it lost all groove it previously had.

  • I'm going to have agree with some of the others. Did seem a little squished together. But you've got it down. Bad sound quality cam though. :(

  • i think you need to release the pedal more often =P

  • All of the notes sounded a little too squished together. It was nice, but I agree with sceptile171, it was a little too clustered for my liking.

  • i would say that this version is OK, but u played it a little to clustered

  • Wow. I wish i could take a song and make it my own. beautiful.
