  • The Chevrolet Volt is not 235 mpg. That MPG is given by the guys at the EPA. They have found an error in their calculation. They have corrected it to 125 mpg. And 125 mpg is a whole lot better than 25 mpg we are all getting in our cars right now.

  • the only way i see this possable is it takes a gallon of gas to fully charge the batterys and the range is only 40 miles on a charge for the batterys how does it get 230 miles the gallon

  • you could buy 2 Priuses for that price or the new Taurus SHO. this car is just a HYPE to get people in debt with GM again.

  • The volt will barely get 45 miles on the gallon. I will believe it when it tested by a reliable source.

  • Even if it got half of what they estimate I would still buy one. But I highly doubt 230mpg. I'm guessing they all sat down and crunched the numbers and came up with 230. It's like the prius, estimated 80mpg but in real life it averages a little over 40.

  • The Chevy volt is a nice car, But then Ford motor company is building excellent cars too, in fact the Fords are rated better than toyota and honda and of course Chrysler has that life time warranty, the only car that has such a protection

  • Another EV1?

  • Well it sure as hell ain't 230 MPG!

  • EPA formula shows 230mpg if u travel 55.5 miles between full charge, 60mpg if u travel 235 miles, 50 mpg for 300 miles...so my mgp should be 480mpg because i travel less than 40 miles a day to/from work...how?... i only used up 2 gallons of gasoline(electric equivalent per month)....

  • It isn't truly 230MPG.

You run off the battery charge and then the gas engine kicks in. I saw the breakdown on how much fuels it really uses and it was more like 60mpg over all. Plus this car is $10,000 over the price of a Prius
