KDS 450 - Empty Akku

Lost power during first flight today. Was lucky to bring the heli down. The original KDS LiPo akku shipped with my KDS 450 SV Pro failed. It was charged only 5 times always balanced with 1C (2.2A). After this flight I can only charge it with 1350mA. I feel it is waste now.

just set tx timer on 6 minutes and when it goes off land , at least with a 2200mah 3s lipo

that way your lipo stays more powerfull at long run ,and lasts longer

already had a crash by flying till the lipo ended ,,and couldnt find a level place to park the heli ,,so i dumped her in wet mut and after changing the one way bearing she flew again

now i just take a lipo for every 6 minutes i want to fly ,,going to try 2600mah soon as well and try 8 minutes of flight

That was exactly what I already did. But after the power loss I could only charge 1350mAh. I think the akku's gone.

@HezRoz melted an accu on the 500 rex saturday ,,a turnigy

when i felt powerloss i landed the 3000 mah 30c 3s lipo was 2 times size and looked liquid ,,about to blow up ,while other 3000 mah was still fine

disconnected and threw the swollen one away ,,glad my heli didnt catch fire inflight

i never get them cheap lipos again ,,for the same it would have cost the heli ,so not that cheap : )

your doing well man , keep it up the way you are doing ,,i guess your pilot for life now : )

@bassax7045 Isn't the 500 rex designed to fly with 6s lipos ? As power in watts is volt * ampere and the 60A regulator is designed for 22,2V that's about 1300W the heli might cosume. With 11,1V that would be 120A and this is 40C for a 300mAh lipo. Maybe you were beyond the limits of the lipo ?

@HezRoz got align 70a esc ,and the turing 3000 mah are biggest mah special for the 500 ,only c (discharge was too low ,,my other pack gives 2 serial 2600mah 35c 11,1v (so is 2600mah 70c 22,2)

they work great and give motor extra power too,,so low discharge might have been the problem ,and the temperature because of that

@HezRoz i always use kds lipos although the original i got with rtf package had a bit less performance too

i guess you need about 3 lipos at least anyway ,so use this one for short testhovers and powering up when testing during repairs

and get some good ones to fly ,,kds lipos are about 30 euros each .and mine work fine and do the job great

cant believe how fast you pick up the skill to fly this heli,and operate it good controlled

nice to have more kds450svpro pilots on you tube now : )
