On Canada Day, the Museum celebrated a new national partnership between Freedom's Wings Canada (FWC) and the Canadian Forces' Soldier On program. Six injured or ill Canadian Forces personnel flew over Ottawa in adapted sail planes. Doug Laurie-Lean along with volunteers from the Gatineau Gliding Club, the York Soaring Club's FWC pilot Michael Clark, and Founding Director Charles Petersen all contributed to the day's success. Keynote speaker Brigadier General Neville Russell officiated, wishing the new partnership success as it expands across Canada, including the Edmonton Soaring club and the Club de Vol à Voile de Québec.
