What a waste, that speed limiter. I have the same car/same year with E55 tires. Anyone know who can remove the limiter?

Looked like it was still pulling nicely.

That run was on my skinny HR rated snow tires. My W rated summers seem like overkill.

I believe it is cut at 130 mph because the CDI is equipped with H rated tires, which are good for 130 mph.

Diesels aren't generally no but this car is the fastest car over a long distance ever made e.g. 50,000km to 100,000 miles. It did 100,000 miles over 30 days with only fuel and oil changes averaging 150mph. Very impressive car.

i no the torque helps alot for 0-60 sprints and low speed acceleration but does it really help that much for top speed? doesnt horsepower help more than torque when cruising at higher speeds?

@dieselnutt get it remapped. My UK w211 E320 cdi has been remapped to 265bhp with 400ftlbs and will do 160mph

Are you kidding me? My UK E320CDi has W rated tyres (168mph)

I had a 1.9TDi powered VW once and the standard tyres on that were V rated as standard from the factory (149mph) despite the car only being physically able to do about 125mph

H rated tyres on a car capable of 155 ........ I still can't believe it

dont matter what road u did it on cause i know u didnt pay for a track

and there are only a few you can do 140 on to begin with especially in a celica, which im sure doesnt hit 140 in a short distance even modified

point is you think its cool to go 140 mph in a japanese car or any car for that matter besides something made to go those speeds

yeah, who ever said anything about in open traffic? and would luck really have anything to do with it? and do you know anything about what has been done to my car? maaaybe it was all done in a controlled environment, and maaaybe i actually do have skills to run a car at those speeds, and maaaybe i did spend a lot of time and money on my car...never crossed your mind.

its not to smart to drive 140 mph in your POS celica, your lucky you didnt kill yourself or some other poor innocent soul on the road

why not? all it does is lower your top speed, usually its 120mph

no thats not it have been at 140mph in a 06 e220 isit the petrol one it go faster
