In this I Am Angus segment, Tom Williams of Chappell Feedlot talks about how locally raised Certified Angus Beef is critical to the future of local communities across rural America. For more information, visit www.angus.org.
assuming there is antibiotic residue in beef after it is slaughtered, raising the temperature to atleast 130 degrees Fahrenheit will kill that antibiotic. That being said, all animals (beef, pork, chicken etc.) are blood tested prior to slaughter. It is a common misconception that ruminant animals cannot digest grain, it is simply false.
How do you explain this.. Antibiotics are routinely given to livestock on factory farms to make them gain weight with less feed and keep them from getting sick in confinement conditions. But the daily dosing, at the same time it lowers feed needs, lowers drug effectiveness and produces antibiotic resistant bacteria or super bugs that can be deadly to people.
@seektherapy70 I'm not trying to insult you or dishearten you but what you said is completely wrong. Just by reading your comment I can tell your not a cattle person. Cattle don't get sick when they eat corn. They are ruminants and a bovines rumen can become unbalanced if they consume to much energy, starch or acids. "Any cow that is forced to eat corn or grain will immediately get sick because they cannot digest it." You should do some research before you pass on your opinions.
Maybe you are allergic to the antibiotics and the drugs pumped into the cows before they are slaughtered. Any cow that is forced to eat corn or grain will immediately get sick because they cannot digest it. WHY CAN'T THESE IDIOTS REALIZE THE GENERAL PUBLIC IS STARTING TO DO THEIR OWN RESEARCH AND NOT TRUST THE USDA?? Thanks for helping the oil companies out by contributing to The Gulf of Mexico dead zone.

@seektherapy70 you do realize that they can't butcher cattle with antibiotic residue in them and if they did do that they would be sent a huge fine
