nope, the SLR was a joint project by Mercedes and McLaren. "Mercedes" F1 engines are totally different to all their other stuff. Mercedes bought the British F1 engine maker company Ilmor and renamed it Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains.

I didn't check your profile, but I bet you are british.....Typical brit mentaly....If it was made in our country, then it's our's.....Like all you guys say SLR series is a british car for example....

Then I tell you that Mercedes have factories all over the world, in places like USA, China, even here in Hungary.......But it doesn't make those cars american or chinese....

Why change the name to Mercedes AMG? "Mercedes" F1 engines are built in Brixworth, England.

I'm not onboard the Schumacher love train personally. For sure he is a true legend of F1, and deservedly so, but his time is in the past. I want to see some more new blood in the sport, finding success.
