@flat13onfire Check your vocabulary

Definitely an Oud (Ud) or Outi. It's not even close to a bouzouki. If it had frets it would be called a Lute (La-outo). In any case this is brilliant.

What the hell is wrong with people?? Are you that clueless about musical instruments that you don't know the difference between an oud and a bouzouki??
-
Is that because, perhaps, tourists came to associate the Bouzouki with Greek culture and demanded it? Just wondering.
Beautyfull!!
We should see more Outi in Greek music!
Eastern Meditteranean instruments are not foreign to Greece..
We are part of this area too

take it from a Greek. This is NOT a BOUZOUKI it is an OUD (in Greek Outi) They are not similar, they do not look the same, they do not even sound the same. There is no confusion between the two to me The Oud is a bautiful magical instrument, the prince of inchantment. The Bouzouki is an over played piece of rubbish that became hugely popular in Greece in the 1930's. It has been an ever growing cancer on the Greek music scene ever since.
