The Samsung Galaxy S II is available from specialty online retailers from around $750 and offers a 1.2 GHz dual-core Exynos processor, 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video recording, front-facing camera for video calling, and Android 2.3 with Samsung's TouchWiz 4.0 user interface. The T-Mobile (LG) G2x sports a 1 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 CPU and has a 4-inch display, 8-megapixel camera with 1080p video recording capabilities, front-facing camera, and a stock build of Android 2.2.

They're both fantastic devices, but it boils down to price versus performance. Which one will go home with the gold medal? Part 1 of 2.

@0194D Same here I had a g2x (fell into an ice fishing hole). The speed was alright and the graphic wasn't bad but the speakers and brightness is shitty. Its not loud enough plus it does random freeze and shut down like you said. I would say this phone need to be re-updated. Of course my was rooted and undervolt / overclocked but before that it was doing random weird stuff. So yes, the phone was prebuilt to be shitty.

@0194D i really hate my battery. it only last maybe 5hours with out using it. now if my on it playing around or using the internet, my battery dies in like 3 hours.it might last a little longer...but i can never go a whole day with having my charger with me. I came from black berry and I so miss my black berry 9700. ive had 4 berrys but 9700 was my favorite. but BB's suck now .but my blackberrys were so good on battery life. with use i could not charge it maybe 2 days. black berrys are awesome.

@0194D no mine isn't rooted, my phone is great. now its not perfect, my battery sucks, and it freezes 1-2 times a week and i gotta do a battery pull. but besides that...i love my g2x. I really want a htc phone, with the specs of my g2x. i really want a wider screen. i think the perfect size screen is the evo from sprint. but since i have t-mobile i gotta rock with a gsm phone. oh yeah btw, my phone is not rooted. but yeah i have problems too but i love my phone like i said.

really i have g2x and i think it is shitty, it glitches all the time. Does random shut downs a lot. It is not just my g2x, many have this problem just google it. Maybe yours is rooted or you got the one good one.

I have g2x and can't find a phone to replace it with. Seems like g2x is still one of the best phones out.

G2x graphic beats galaxy s2 but mostly galaxy s2 is on top of most benchmark. I still want g2x
