No, Dre knows best when it comes to production, but there were rumors that he wanted to influence his content (i.e. turn him into a gangsta, since i think alot of Dre's impression of Rakim comes from Know The Ledge for the Juice Soundtrack)..

Ofcourse that song wasn't technically "gangsta" but "Anti-gangsta".
