I don't think of my firearms as a means to defend my nation as much as i think they are a means to defend myself against my government. Disarmament of the public leads to a more simple implementation of totalitarianism. It begins with baby steps like these.

If you are male citizen, or declared to become a citizen, between the ages of 18 and 45, not serving in the military, (active, reserve, national guard) or female in the NG, YOU ARE a member of the militia. Also section 8 of the constitution, Congress can, 1 raise and support armies. 2 to provide for the calling forth the militia. Army created from scratch. Militia simply organized. WE NEED to be ARMED, ALWASE. ready to be called forth

there is a line. i was drawn back in the 1930s. "firearm stamp act" or something like that. basically, you need to buy a stamp/licence/tax to purchase a selective fire/full auto weapon. (military stuff) also, for the nuke lovers, you need something called a explosive handlers licence, same idea. a weapon purpose is to take human life, that's why its a weapon, not a fishing rod. you need to remember, no matter the weapon, gun sword, its a chunk of metal, a tool. the good or evil is the user.

It seems you might not have read the 2nd Amendment properly. You are not a member of a "regulated militia," and thus you are not protected as an ordinary citizen to possess firearms.

Also, because the NRA is such a powerful lobby, you are well-protected in your right to own a gun. However, the size of the magazine in your weapon is not protected by the Constitution. It has nothing to do with owning a gun.
