2008 Dodge Caliber SXT

Finally got around to filming the car. I tried to be as unbiased as I could with it as well after all my tax payers dollars are paying for this car and its company now.

Hey bro. I'm from venezuela.. I like this car a lot.. But i have a question! How has been your or your brother's experience with this car? I mean, problems with mechanic parts like motor, transmission and others. I would like to know and please if you can answer it will be nice!

@neoe22 Its not a bad car really sure it is cheap in parts but its been a good runner. My brothers only complaint so far has been the gas tank size in the car he wishes it could be a tad bigger especially since he drives now 100 miles everyday. No mechanical complaints to speak of as of yet for this year of dodge caliber.

My mom owns a 2009 caliber I drove it out to Vegas the other day and I could not go up hill at any more then 60mph b4 I hit the redline wth is up with that have any suggestions also when I brake and accelerate at a random moment I get this crack sound in the transmission do you think it's having trouble switching gears on the cvt ???

@iRigo22 It might be having transmission issues. I think these transmissions are hit or miss in these cars. This one doesn't have any transmission issues there are however suspension clunks every once and a while when you hit bumps. I think if I were you I'd have yours looked at it might be mechanical or a fault in the computer system thats not letting the cvt switch gearing.

Hey, the vid is good man! own a 2009 caliber, good solid cars. Now i have one question though, i bought it used (it was a rental, had 20 000 mi) the main controls for the windows, on the drivers side. Do all four lights light up green? and do they light up all round the car? only the drivers window switch lights up, is this normal? I'm not too sure if thats just normal or if theres a short somewhere!

From what I remember and I can tell the lights only light up on the drivers control with the green it should be normal for this vehicle. Thanks for the comment!

I just bought this car and I am amazed, 5 star crash rating so its good for my kids and thats the main reason I bought it . I have a 5 year old and a newborn and I feel safe. I have the 4 cylinder model I am not sure if they come ina six but I wouldent want a six anyway. It does shift weird lol I like it though it has some pep to it and a very sensitive gas pedal compared to my powerful bonneville ! Over all I love it, its a good family car and built well and the price and gas are spot on ! Nice

Oh yeah. I went to America and rented the smallest awailable car at the airport and then I get such a Dodge Caliber!

It's a huge car and very comfortable to drive.

@iRigo22 it hits red line because it has a cvt tranny. it has pullys not gears. this causes it not to shift until you let off the gas. it is supposed to improve gas mileage or something. but thats why it red lined

Cool video! Both of my Focus's had front disc/rear drum brakes...it does seem weird as my 1990 Oldsmobile has 4 wheel discs..lol.

I just test drove 2 of these today, 2010's...they redid the interior with better quality materials...I really liked it actually. It's definitely on my list of cars to buy this fall.
