First project in my "After Effects and the Uncanny" class. We had to make an abstracted animation/motion graphic in response to Freud's "The Uncanny."

I won't go into the long drawn-out explanation I'm putting in my accompanying essay, but the main focus of this little thing is on the "did I just see what I think I saw" phenomenon. Visual misinterpretation leads to one's mind filling in the gaps, and it can often be distorted. I don't know about anyone watching, but the most "uncanny" experiences I've had are when my eyes seemingly play tricks on me and I do a double take.

Haha, my essay actually relates it a lot better to Freud's paper, but I don't think anyone wants to read that kind of a text wall in the description.
