http://www.pointblankonline.net/remix-course-logic.php In this video watch Danny J Lewis (Defected, Enzyme Black) work on a future garage style remix of his own track 'Oh My Days'. He demonstrates how to use autofilter and reverb effects to give that familiar sense of space and texture heard throughout the genre, and then moves on to some remix editing techniques.

This is video 4 of 5 in the 'How to Remix' series. It is a taster of the 11+ hours worth of videos that Point Blank students have access to on the Remixing Pro Producer Course. (http://www.pointblankonline.net/remix-course-logic.php)

The remix videos on this course are made on the fly... in other words, Danny has not pre-prepared exactly what he is going to do or how the track will eventually turn out. This means you get to see exactly how a real pro producer would work on a remix in the studio.

Danny kindly provided the parts to the original of the tune featured in this video (Enzyme Black - Oh My Daze) for the course. Students are able to download them as well as the parts from 2 other tracks from Reelgroove Records to have a go at remixing themselves. Please head here to support Danny and buy the release http://www.traxsource.com/index.php?act=show&fc=tpage&cr=titles&c...

  • Seems like there is another tutor for the soulfull course, though..

All I can say it was AMAZING how much skill Danny has.. Man I've learned soooo much from the course materials but even more by seeing Danny in action working on our projects and answering our many, many questions on the forum and the weekly live chats.

I will take the Ableton course in minimal as soon as I have the money,,, Honestly would prefer if the course would still be tutored by Danny...

  • @Icevampir Thanks for sharing your positive feedback. We love to hear it!

Yes, our tutors can chop and change as many of them have other personal production projects that they are involved with. Unfortunately that is the nature of employing tutors who are real industry professionals - occasionally they will not be available for a period of time - however we feel it is beneficial for everyone if they continue to push themselves as producers in their own right.

  • @HjalmarGuitarMaster

If you participate in one of the course of Pointblank you get tons of projects to analyse:

    - projects from the examples

    - often full projects from the tutors

    - projects / homework of the other students

    - same projects AFFTER the tutor reviewed and optmized it recording all this improvements and the thoughts to an video (in our cases often up till 100% improvement)

    Regards

Ex-Student (Soulfull house music - At that moment tutored by Danny)

PS: Danny, my nick was funkzilla

  • Nice variations!

  • Where can I download house music tracks in logic studio format so that I can analyse how house music is made???

  • Thanks you, I was doing way more work than needed to get the same effect!!!
