Golden-Silk Spiders

Golden-Silk spiders I found while on a recent hiking trip. These are beautiful spiders! Also commonly called "banana spiders". This species is harmless to people, not to be confused with the deadly banana spiders indiginous to South America.

why is the term banana spider it brings more confusion to every one. they call it probably because they founs spiders close to bananas if their web were closed to the fruit or just a spider sitting on them...ok so if if i found a blck widow on a banana should i call it a banana spider ...no so the term is completely for kids...

lol, Well these spiders are called "banana " spiders because of the way they look. .When vewed from the top, looking at their backs, they look like a banana, color and all. So that's the reason for this particular species. The real banana spiders are from South America and are deadly.

haha, i saw "banana" spider and "harmless" and it confused the shit out of me, but really nice video, ive been becoming more and more interested in spiders lately im not sure why but i find them fascinating.

lol I know, banana spider is really a misnomer. But that's what they're called around here anyway. The real banana spiders are extemely deadly! I find them fascinating too! Thanks for watching my video. Sorry for taking so long to reply.:)

These things scare the shit out of me. I usually have no problem squishing a brown recluse or black widow but put this thing in from of me and I'm trying to get away from it as much as it's trying to get away from me.

This remindes me of when I used to own a praying mantis. I used to catch flys and sit and watch her eat them alive...yeah...I was pretty messed up little kid.

I just found four of these spiders in my yard! One in on my bedroom window! It is really beautifl!!! I had to google search its decription and found out what type of spider it was. I love spiders, they are so amazing! And great video!
