This is a way for you to transition from the half-guard into your butterfly guard using a Knee to Elbow transition. The is done the same way as the mount escape, and can land you in a great position to go directly into an elevator sweep. This video was taken from our Aggressive Guard series, the link of which is provided above.

  • Excuse me friend, you mention 'Tried to frame your opponent' at 0:31 seconds. What does that mean?

  • @ucandelicious Framing your opponent refers to the crossface your opponent to create space. See the two videos below:

  • I was just wondering...Why not just get a butterfly hook on his trapped side leg and sweep that way? I believe eddie bravo calls it the stomp....only he uses it to get to full butterfly guard...

  • Very unique, and effective. Lots of guys aren't expecting an elevator from half guard. Kudos.

  • That is very useful. Thank you.

  • Very unique technique.
