DISCLAIMER AND STATEMENT: To all of the cast, crew, producers, NT, etc who were involved with this production, I do not own the original of this recording, I did not record this myself. As a matter of fact if I was in London, and adept with a camera at 9 years of age, maybe this would be mine! I am only stating that from a fan of not only Maria Friedman, but for the sake of LADY IN THE DARK fans, don't delete this video! So little from LADY IN THE DARK (any of the various productions) is available and it is my humble goal to bring this material and the casts involved to the spotlight as often as I can.

This is the only clip I will provide on Youtube. Anyone who wants to chat me up about LADY feel free to find me on tumblr (search LadyLizaElliott or Maria Friedman you WILL find posts of mine) If there are any questions concerns, added disclaimers I should place, or at least a warning if this is going to be removed, please feel free to contact me, as an actor and techie myself I respect the copyright rules (for the most part) but feeling that this was a rare opportunity to bring some joy to fellow fans, I could not pass it up.

  • This is one of my top 5 favourite songs EVER! It perfectly expresses my philosophy of life and it could be my epitaph! I saw this production of the musical at the National a few years back. I enjoyed it (not immensly, though) and thank you for such a rare opportunity to see a clip of one of my favourite musicals. There's so little footage of any version of Lady around! Someone recently uploaded the Ginger Rogers version on Youtube, did you see it?

  • Yes, I was able to obtain a dvd through Ebay years ago, but the one available on Youtube actually has better color quality believe it or not!

  • -giggles- Here we go.

  • Great to see Friedman doing this number. It looks like a rather inexpensive production. This number should have a lot going on. It sets the whole fantasy for the rest of the evening. Because we just don't have the great Gertrude Lawrence on film, my favorite Liza is the wonderful Ann Sothern. There are dvd's available of it and I suggest people see it. It's all done live and there are some mistakes but it's exciting throughout.

  • I want to make a speech!
